A more traditional R&B effort than the previous two, “Gemini” was the album TQ recorded while living in New Orleans as a Cash Money Millionaire. TQ had moved his base down south and was the primary hook man for the indie label between 2000 and 2004. In addition to this album of his own, TQ also wrote for Baby’s “Birdman”, Lil Wayne’s “500 Degrees,” and The Big Tymer’s “Hood Rich” albums among a slew of other projects.
“Cash Money was much less of a culture shock than most people would have thought. Most of my family is from Mobile, Alabama which was a quick 2 hour ride down the coast from New Orleans. I’d picked up on BG from traveling down there to visit. Doogie was a legend there, so when Baby came calling he already had a lot of credit with me from seeing what “Choppa City” did to the club during those days. He made me a hell of an offer to join up and that’s where I did a big chunk of of my songwriting.”
